Ed-u-ma-cated

This work examines the perception of education, especially in the Black community. It explores spiritual education versus formal education, street smarts versus book smarts, blue collar verses bourgeoisie and reconsiders societys view of which is supreme. It is about failure, passion and the ability to dream amidst adversity. The slave narratives of Frederick Douglass, Harriet Jacobs, Sojourner Truth and many others inspire this piece.
